How does time pass? Just checked out your site...superbe, Sean. C'est simple mais je la trouve très efficace. Quelquefois, ça c'est meilleur, n'est ce pas? I've just returned from a few days in Colorado Springs with my mom & sisters - a nice little birthday getaway! ... and of course, I couldn't leave the area without checking out Green Mountain Falls! Believe it or not, even with the recent conditions and the tremendous snow a week ago, your sculpture is still standing - maybe showing the strains of time a bit, a litt saggy but still hanging in there! (a perfect metaphor for my birthday trip!)
I thought you might enjoy seeing how the old girl is holding up (the sculpture, not me!) The two broads in the photos are my sisters Linda and Doreen. Doreen is the one on the left - ...
You know, it's kind of ironic - the Colorado Springs piece is not the magnificent creation it was July 13, starting to show age and wear but she will just keep going until time takes its toll --- and, the Hays piece will have to be cut will have to be cut down in its prime - leaving pristine and with impecable dignity, but going too soon (we'll probably have to have it down by the end of this week). In one summer, you created quite a statement on the transitory nature of things, some things lasting longer than they should (or we imagined they would), and other things ending even when we believe they have more to offer - but needing to make way for something else. Interesting, huh?
...
And ... "Maelstrom" - we are continuing to draw the most amazing comments! Although gallery traffic hasn't been real busy, it seems we've had a number of visitors from out of the state making trips through Hays and somehow finding the Hays Arts Center. They are all astounded that we have something like this here - and that they get to see it for free! Through their eyes (and those of the many young students who've visited) we are continually reminded how lucky we were to have had you and your spirit pass through our orbit for those special 2 weeks in August. Again, thank you my friend. I had the picture of Canon looking at it (the one you put on Facebook) printed as my new mouse pad. So, for years to come, everyday at my computer I'll be reminded of the most amazing artwork, created by the most special of artists, being enjoyed by the most delightful little boy - all at the Hays Arts Center in a photo I took! And, thanks so much for having shared that photo on Facebook! I was so proud to see it there - and to read the responses of all your friends.
If you make it to Hays this winter, please be sure to come by and see us. We miss you! And, as I said when you left, if the timing should ever again work for you - the gallery is yours, even if I have to paint it RED next time! ...(and)... je suis allé voir tes installations de l’été et même en photo cela semble impressionnant…
Cela devait être absolument irréel pour les promeneurs non avertis de « tomber » sur cet inidentifiable boule de fil suspendue…
Il faut créer cela dans nos forêts alentours afin d’aller le voir en grandeur nature frédericsalut...c'est génial ce que tu as fait dans la nature... vraiment c'est fantastique ! les photos sont superbres et mettent bien en valeur l'ambiance et ta création isabelle

Hey Sean, If I remember correctly you were enthusiastic about stringing back when we both worked at Big Cheese Pizza in Hays Kansas. Amazing how far a dream will take you.....around the world and back. I admire your patience and persistence. Quali...ties I wish I had more of. I was really amazed at the progress just between July 6th and 7th. I guess for your family, the words "family get-to-gether" will actually interpret to "Family work day" I have no idea how long your art will last but hopefully for generations. Great job!! bart

Your exhibit looks phenomenal! The dynamic orchestration of lines are not only inviting, but mesmerizing. You must have the patience of Andy Goldsworthy! sean, je suis subjugée. c'est magnifique. la mise en scène nouse laisse entendre que quelque chose va se passer, une arrivée, d'une bête, d'un ange... qui n'arrive pas! la bête c'est peut être moi? qui aimerai me glisser entre les fils où dans ce cône douillet commeun hamac. et puis non cela me rend plutôt mystique. c'est le passage vers l'haut-delà, le nid de l'ange, ou la trace du dernier qui a cherché à rejoindre les hommes. --- tu es l'ange qui avec tes cheveux déposés avec délicatesse nous fait rêver. départ immédiatement vers le ciel! merci à toi, marie-pascale deluen, sculpteur.
